I am having a little trouble getting the thermal capability to run
properly. I insert the 3 thermal expansion coefficients required for
orthotropic material after the density material property as the manual
states to do. This part seems to work fine. The problem is the
location of the node number and temperature inputs. I have tried many
different positions for this part fo the input file. I keep getting
the I/O error: read nodal temperature. Currently I have the input
set up like this:

1 1
125000000000 8450000000 8450000000 > The Material Properties
4300000000 3400000000 3400000000
0.328 0.328 0.328
1.62
.000004 0.000054 0.000054

What am I doing wrong?

Take a look at the ech file, you might be able to figure out what went wrong. If still could not, please send us your input file so that we can figure out what went wrong.

Dear Qi,

Thanks a lot for helping answering. However, next time when you answer, making sure it is also copied to HiFi-Comp <hifi...@googlegroups.com>.

Hi Sean,

The reason for your problem is the format you use in temperature.

If you change the last line of your input file into the following:

48     50.

where the temperature "50" is followed by a ".", then problem is solved and VABS should work.

Cheers,

Qi

I have the ech file has not helped me much.  Just says: IO Error:  read nodal temperature.  I have attached my input and ECH file with this email.

Hi Sean,

Can you send your VABS manual (to confirm the version you are using) and the whole input file to me please? I will help check with the mistake.

Cheers,

Qi
