HURON HIGH SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2012

1.  Seniors this is a reminder to please let the Guidance office know of any scholarships you will be receiving from your college or other organizations that you did not list on the form Mrs. Henning had you complete.  Also, if you have changed the college you will be attending or your major, please let Mrs. Hahn know.

2.  Congratulations!!! The 2012-13 Student Body President is Matt Rivera and the Student Body Vice President is Lauren Dewey.  There will be a meeting today for anyone wishing to run for Student Council in room 202 after school.

3.  If anyone is interested in walking for the March of Dimes this Sunday, please see Emily King or Alyssa Franklin this week.

4.  Yearbooks for the 2011-2012 school year are for sale!! Visit the website www.yearbookordercenter.com, put in our school order number 4157, and follow the simple instructions to complete your order. Don't miss out on this opportunity to preserve your high school memories! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lee. 

5.  The final meeting of the Teen Library Council at the Huron Library is Friday, May 11 at 3:30 PM.  Members are asked to bring a sweet or salty snack to share with their friends as we end the school year with fun and games.

6.  Ole Amigos:  There will be a burrito bar coming May 14th to the Huron High School cafeteria.  You will have 3 choices of meat, rice, beans & condiments.  Other choices from the cafeteria will still be available.

7.  All girls interested in playing golf next year, there will be an informational meeting on Friday, May 11th, at 3 pm in room 213, Coach Kaufman's room.

8.   Any student interested in trying out for the Huron High School Academic Challenge team should plan on attending a brief meeting in Mr. Blevins' room next Wednesday May 16th at 3:00 p.m.  Information will be provided regarding requirements to make the team.  Current members must also try out, and should plan on attending if they wish to be considered for the 2012-2013 team.  See Mr. Blevins if you have any questions or cannot make the meeting due to athletic events.

9.  Students are reminded that if they are under the age of 18 and will be getting a summer job, you will need a work permit.  Please plan ahead. If you do not have a valid physical on file you will need to get that from your physician.  Our summer office hours will be 6 am - 2 pm.

10.  PSEOP students:  Once you schedule your PSEOP classes at Firelands you should be sure to stop by the Guidance Office to adjust your HHS schedule. 

11.  Seniors are reminded their "Rules and Regulations" paper is due in to the office on Friday, May 11th.

12.   The library is open periods 2, 3 4 & 7 today.

13.  Attention Class of 2013!  For those juniors who missed the recent assembly given by Woodard Photographic, please visit the school office to receive more information about their Early Bird Special.  With summer just around the corner, this is the best time of the year for your Senior Portraits.  Be sure to experience the fun of their studio by scheduling online today at woodardphoto.com!
