Ask them to provide documentation where they must charge 911 fees?

10c/min costs $10/month. You can ditch the $10/month fee and pay 30c/
minute.

It is clearly stated that $10/month gives you the 10/minute rate. I've
been on that same plan for three years. If you opt out of the monthly
fee, the per-minute rate is 30.

I was disappointed that they decided to implement the 911 fee. I figure
it is because Bell now owns Virgin, and they didn't want to continue to
cover the 911 fee as Virgin had been doing. I expect that we'll continue
to see gradual fee increases, and also lower quality customer service,
since Bell now owns the company.

It's really too bad - I switched to Virgin three years ago, specifically
to get away from Bell Aliant, and I've been thoroughly happy with Virgin
Mobile. They seemed like a company that actually cared about their
customers - a rare find these days! I'll stay with them unless/until
another option looks better to me, or their service declines to a point
that is unacceptable.

I completely agree. Bell took over, another fee, just like their satellite
and regular cell and landline. I will be looking at new options, but
Virgin's $100 a year/$.30 or $.35 a minute is good for me right now. Now
saying that, I started with them at them at $.15 a min for the first five
minutes, then $.25 minutes the rest of the day, then it went to $.30 all
day, and that was only 2 or 3 years ago. Everything goes up I guess, just
keep your phone in case you switch back later, and change carrier's and keep
your number when it makes sense. Just make sure whoever you pick,
piggy-backs Bell's towers for coverage.

we also were virgin customers.
2 phones on prepaid.

they started to play with the prepaid expiries and fees.
we gve up and cancelled both phones(anyone want to buy them)

we have now switched to petro canada prepaid, but they are on the rogers
network so that in its self creates problems for us in the boonies.

to bad the 7-11 speakout was not available here as the cards(whatever
value)last for a year before expiring.

I would have gone with Virgin but i needed a GSM phone so i could
switch sim cards when i go to Europe. Thus i am stuck with Rogers
until the other companies catch up which, i understand, will
happen. At least Rogers has the $100 voucher that is good for a
year. That makes it a bit cheaper per month and i don't end up
using the whole amount anyway. I'd hate to be paying 10 or 15 a
month on prepaid when i only use the phone about 10 minutes a
month. The yearly voucher makes it slightly less painful.

if you only use a phone 'about 10 minutes a month' why bother having one at
all?

Because i use it a lot more when i'm traveling, using a local sim
card over there. And because i like to have it for emergencies
and it's also more convenient than trying to find a pay phone.
