We believe that you may have tried to RTFM.
R can be a tough language for those new to it, and increasingly there's a lot of us out there. You're feeling frustrated or lost. You've scoured the online resources (you really have, right? you're sure?) such as:
• R's built-in help - help(), ? OR help.search() or ??
for full text search
• R Search and RSeek– which allow searches of the R-help mailing lists and resources
• Stack Overflow's R page - an increasingly valuable place
Maybe you're not ready to ask your tee ball question on the
Major League list (as one of our members put it). Or maybe you're a Big Leaguer now, but willing to give something back to the up & comers. If you're any of these, please
join us.
Question Posers, we ask that you commit to:
- not posting a question unless you've made a real attempt at finding a solution online
- including enough information so that anyone who wants to help you can duplicate your results quickly. this usually means providing your code, sample input, and exact error messages.
Question Helpers, we ask that you commit to:
- running the asker's code, if provided, rather than guessing on what might be going on
- testing your own code before posting it as an answer (a broken answer is often worse than none at all)
Finally, we aim to keep this list informative and on topic.
