I've been trying to do my first upload with a RUNINPLACE fix and
RapidSVN has been generating segmentation faults. Apparently, this
bug is fairly well known. I found some info here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rapidsvn/+bug/264969 (I'm a
work at the moment and will give it a try when I get home).

Hasn't anyone else run into this?

I'm still on 8.04  and RapidSVN 9.4
9.4 is what came out the hardy repository.  Just out curiosity, can you recall how you got 9.6 on your hardy (8.04) machine... Any chance you got it from a hardy backport?

Sorry,little bit OT....the short Version ;)
I've done the following:
Download the Source http://www.rapidsvn.org/download/release/0.9.6/rapidsvn-0.9.6.tar.gz
Install following (Synaptic) :
APR(dev)
NEON(dev)
Subversion Headers
Then configure/make/sudo make install
Bevor starting following in Term:
sudo ln -s /usr/local/lib/libsvncpp.so.1 /usr/lib/libsvncpp.so.1
... thats it ...0.9.6 is born ;)

(New one is Version 0.9.8 but I have not testet ...)

Good luck

I tried your suggestion and I seem to have a 9/6 version of rapidsvn,
without the segmentation fault at least..
I wanted to upload a minor change to HeeksCAD.cpp I unlocked
HeeksCAD.cpp cleaned overall, updated HeeksCAD.cpp and attempted to
commit.
I entered username pwd as per instructions on http://code.google.com/p/heekscad/source/checkout

I then got prompted for username and pwd and every time I hit ok, it
looped back. When I hit cancel I got this message:
Execute: Commit
Error: Error while performing action: Commit failed (details follow):
MKACTIVITY of '/svn/!svn/act/55d882bc-315a-46b3-9d66-7fd9e717e76b':
authorization failed (http://heekscad.googlecode.com)
Ready
I was really hoping for my first upload... Not tonight :(. I think
something is not right with subversion. Unless someone knows offhand
what went wrong... I guess its time to RTFM.

Hi JT
Keep Cool :))
I've startet my "old" System and checked for any Errors....nothing...

In Rapidsvn/ Repository/ Checkout:
Be shure you use the following in CHECKOUT Field:
https://heekscad.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

In Destination Directory e.g.
/home/hans/Desktop/HeeksCAD (my Path)

Then the Login Question e.g.:
username : fungu...@freenet.de
pwd : Google Password

Now you are on.
e.g. I copy my updated .po File in the Directory Tree /home/hans/
Desktop/HeeksCAD/translations/de
right Click on the File and then Commit

Thats it

Well... This morning the problem is different... It seems that I can't
even get to https://heekscad.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ without a
prompt for a username and a password. Something seems to be going on
the server side. Prior this issue, I did everything as you said with
the exception that I didn't have @gmail.com on the end of my
username.

There is a certain level of irony to this... I logged off my linux box
and tried going to my wife's windows machine.. I can get to the page
https://heekscad.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ but if I'm logged in as
jonasthomasmsm I get the prompt for username and pwd. The only thing
is I never bothered to write down the password, because I always (up
to now) copied the password from the page..
:(

This is O.K. when you go to this Site you MUST Enter the Username +
Password (Same by me )
Rapidsvn remembers the login data after the first successful
login,this you need no longer...

Strange,my Google Account MUST be my Email Adress ....
Original Google: "e.g. myn...@example.com. This will be used to sign-
in to your account."
The only thing I can imagine, there is anything wrong with your Login
Data...

Did you use?  Your googlecode.com password  ( from the "Settings" tab of your "Profile" in Google account )

you have to use https:// instead of http:// for commits. There is also a huge problem if you checkout using http and then try to checkin using https. It is best to delete the entire tree and recheckout.

Ok.... I get back from vacation, get ready to upload my first fix... and I see it's been done already....
Plus..... Dan tweaks my code::blocks project file and uploads it...
You guys..... have been busy....  All kind of fun new stuff to try out.....

I'm not an expert on this code::blocks stuff so I'm not sure the way, I built the project file was the best way of doing it..
I wondering if it would have been better to have linked to a custom makefile in src/  (I'm assumiing that will always be current?)
If the project is expanded by someone who is not using code::blocks, I'm not sure if the new files will be picked up in the cbp.

btw. Vacation was short but fun..
