Alert Over Million Volt Phone
Weapons experts say the K95 devices are 20 times more powerful than a police Taser and are potentially lethal. They look like ordinary Nokia mobile phones, but deliver a powerful shock when a button is pressed on the side of the device. UK Border Agency officers told Sky News they have seized four of the illegal US-made devices in recent weeks. Two were found at the Royal Mail's Mount Pleasant sorting office in London. Both had been sent from the US. Officers also seized a device from a passenger arriving at Glasgow Airport from Bulgaria, and another from a suspect who flew into Manchester Airport from Turkey. Videos on YouTube show the phones being demonstrated by retailers offering to supply customers in the UK. A young woman representing a firm selling self-defence products says: "That's 950,000 volts running right there. "Like I mentioned before 50,000 volts will get a 250lb person on the ground for ten minutes, paralysed. "Imagine what this little sucker's going to do for them!"
