I'll be moving out of state in a few weeks and since I won't physically be around, I feel it's best to resign my position as Champion. This won't be the last you hear from me or see me, but the community would be better served by someone who can be at HeatSync regularly in person.

It's been an honor to serve the community as Champion and I will continue to be involved, though mostly remotely starting in a few weeks.

I formally resigned at the board meeting tonight, Thurs, 5/23. According to our bylaws, the board shall elect an interim replacement. So members of the community that are interested in taking on this responsibility for the remainder of my term should let the board and the community know. Carefully consider your level of commitment, goals, and expectations for the position of Champion before offering to take it on.

The Champion is an organizer and coordinator that helps to facilitate things within HeatSync and between HeatSync and other organizations, as well as guiding the directing principles of HeatSync. If you believe you would be a good Champion and are able to make the commitment, then let us know why and how.

Thanks everyone for your confidence in me and I apologize for not being able to finish out my term.

We’ve been well-served by Tim’s efforts as a Champion, and further inspired by various projects he’s shared around the lab.  His insights and perspectives will be sorely missed.

Best Wishes, Tim, in your new endeavors!

Sorry to see you leave Tim.

Nothing has changed for me since last year.  I would still love to be able to help the board as champion.

Wow Tim, I am quite sorry to see you go. You have been an amazing Champion! I share Nate's sentiment, HSL has truly been well served by your efforts.

At this point I would like to encourage some of the new members who may be willing to serve to step forward. The Champion position Tim is vacating will stand until the October election the four month term provides a unique opportunity to serve the HSL community without the full 12 month time commitment.

Lastly, and to the current board, IIRC our bylaws concerning election of HSL officers has changed. Could someone on the board create a nomination thread and spell out the details?

I did some investigation, and it appears they haven't changed. We had a bylaws hacking meeting in January, and while changing the rule to allow the Membership to determine who would fill the position for the remainder of the term was proposed, it never made it to a vote. Sorry, all.

Hmm not sure how we missed that one. As Jeremy said our intent is to get community involvement/feedback/voting on this regardless.
