Last year I brought in a desoldering station (used for repair, melts and sucks solder from a circuit board). It is currently clogged and in need of TLC. If no one is using it I can drop it back into storage.

Should we fix it and let it stay or should it go?

I used the station just the other day, assuming it's the same one, the one that uses hot air to desolder. Used it to fix my LCD monitor that had bad caps in it.

I tried to use it and it was clogged... this was a while ago. I would
love to have it working but I don't want to break it further. It seems
to have a microscopic pinhole.. maybe it just needs a whole new tip?

I would be happy to fix this. A built in solder sucker is a big time saver. I can come in Monday and do this. Out of town today and this weekend.

Hey guys,
I have a PACE MBT250 solder/desolder station, and you are correct in assuming that the tip needs replacing. The MTBF may vary between mine and Heatsync's, but it is standard maintenance. I would plan to buy a dozen or ten tips so that someone isn't left high and dry in the middle of a project. My suggestion for tips (or any other tech tools) is: Jensen Tools at 1-800-225-5370
