Two of my three newly adopted cats, the two kittens of course, are tearing apart the house. I want to build a big, complex cat tree/wall to entertain them and wear them out. If anyone knows of scrap carpet going to waste, especially 12 inch wide strips, I would love repurpose it for you!

I got one of those scratch pad things if you want it?

I think I can help you out, I have a couple of end cuts from commercial carpeting about 6-8 feet long. I can drop it off at the lab, when is the next time you are going by the space?

Thanks Ryan. I have a couple of small cardboard scratching pads for them now, and was rather dismayed at the cost of replacement pads. I have been thinking about ripping some thin plywood at a 45 degree angle and stacking them together like a butcher's block to make a longer lasting, more tree/bark like scratching pad that would last a whole lot longer.

I may give in and spend time rather than money and get this

I would certainly be a lot less work than what I am thinking of!
