This was sent to the board but it's up to you all; should HeatSync have a table there? It's pretty easy, we've got all the supplies you need ready to go if you're willing to spend the time.

Arbitrary Arts is putting together an Arts Festival at the Phoenix Ale Brewery on October 12th from 5 to 11 p.m. We would like to invite the Heat Sync Lab to bring down a table with some information & whatever else you like. We think people should know about your space, as we are big fans. Thank you!

I'd really like to help your event be a success. We have plenty of creations that we can bring down to show off the creativity of our members and the capacity of our tools. Thanks for the invitation.

We can bring down some sample 3d prints, laser cuts and etching, and some interactive electronic stuff to hopefully inspire the artists and aspiring artists that are there. Is that the kind of thing you are looking for? Are you looking for finished art pieces as well to display?

Anyone who wants to join me in running this or has something they want to show off there, let me know.

Thanks Tim!

Something to think about. Sometimes gross to sell HSL from behind a conference table :) From having done a ton of these things, its often closer to our mission to bring some kind of hands on/educational activity with you as well. Could be a workshop idea, a 3d printer, or something else.

Just a few questions about logistics for the event. About how many people do you expect to attend (so we have enough materials available to hand out)? How much floor space do you have set aside (so we know which table, etc. to bring)? Will there be an electrical outlet available (to power things that light up and move, maybe a digital slideshow on a computer, and to feed the robots) and if so, what length of extension cord will be needed to reach our area? If the power is inconvenient, don't sweat it, the robots eat batteries too.

Thanks for the details. Sounds like it's going to be a pretty big event. We'll be ready.

More space may be allotted if necessary. 50 and 100 foot chords would probably be wise, as electricity is limited and much of the event is occuring outdoors. it is located at the Phoenix Ale Brewery which is 20,000 square feet inside and approximately a quarter acre outside.

Thanks Tim, contact me off-list if you'd like some help with tables, tablecloths, banners, handouts, etc. Rix and I did quite well for ourselves with ~15min preparation and a Honda Civic once.

Who's free next Friday evening to show up and chat with people?

I was really hoping I would have some stuff done to show off on Friday but I'm not sure at this moment. I will however have 18 signs for you Mary to hang in the windows. I did not get the chance to cut the bottom portion of the signs that you need for the artist name and the logos on them for A?A and Heatsync.

Do you think Kalab can go down there tomorrow and have someone there help him make that part?

Anyone want to help with that? The MDF board is tucked in by where my box was.

I could use some help with this event from members.

2 other people to work the booth during the event 5-11, or more on a rotating basis. I'd like to make sure there are always at least 2 people at the booth.

1 other person to help with setup/ teardown. Use of a pickup truck would help a lot with this, as I think I'd like like to bring either Julie-bot or the interactive cactus in the window. Set-up is 3-4:45. Teardown 11-Midnight.

Also I'd like to do give visitors an opportunity to build something simple, like a clip-on led/ coin battery held together with tension/tape. Does anyone have any suggestions for something else visitors can build. Sourcing the parts inexpensively with this short lead time would even be hard for the simple led idea. Maybe laser cut  a sheet of parts that can be assembled? Maybe something with the HSL logo? It's going to be at a brewery so keep that in mind.

Hey I was wondering if it would be possible to laser cut the band logos for the beer and art festival this friday. :)

Just a reminder that this is happening today (Friday). Come out and enjoy the art, music, and stop by our table to talk about HeatSync, show off and talk about your projects and help out with our led building activity.

It's at the Phoenix Ale Brewery at 30th St. & Washington from 5-11pm.

Please do help Tim if you can.

Especially everyone who wrote down we needed MOAR outreach and everyone who nodded yes when they read that.

Yes.  This is the outreach you are looking for.

Everybody go get a project you're working on at the lab, and bring it down to AA.  Show people when they walk by and ask you what the blinking lights are.

I'm going to bring my capsense project that has been sitting dormant forever.

Jacob are you going to be there?  If you have any demos that you could use the epoc for, that might be good for some mind-blowing.

I'll be there to help with setup and talk to people at the event.  Anybody else free that can help with setup, volunteer at the table, or tear down?

Like Ryan said, bring down any fun project you'd like to show off.  I'll be working a bit on the glasses I'm redesigning.

I meant to say, I'll set up the 3D printer there unless someone was

I wasn't planning on bringing the 3d printer, but only because I have enough to do already, however if you want to bring it down, that would be great! We'll have an extension cord running to the table.

Sweet! I'll try to throw the profiles onto a laptop or maybe just
pre-load some neat stuff (TM) onto the SD Card.

I might be a little late, will that be a problem? I am working till 5
in south chandler...

It opens at 5, but bringing it down whenever would be great. Thanks a lot. Besides I'm sure people would like to watch it get set up as well as run.

Thanks for showing up, everyone! I think we might've been the most popular booth there especially once the 3d printer showed up.

Thanks everyone for making this happen. So many people showed up and we got to show off so many of the facets of the lab. Also we turned a bunch of spectators into makers! This was a great way to reach out to the art community and I'm looking forward to doing more of these.

I was really glad to see you all out there tonight/ This was great exposure for both myself and Heatsync. Even sold a gun I have been trying to sell on etsy for a couple months.
