A reminder to check us out this Monday at 7pm at HSL for our Augmented Humanity meetup where we work on ubiquitous computing solutions to bring computing closer to the body.

Recently, the first scholarly paper (that I know of) detailing sub-dermal magnetic implants was accepted to IEEE.  Read through the attached to see what kind of nonsense I too had done to myself in the name of science(or something..).

The authors blog, which I follow, is at http://www.jawish.org/

Hi Jacob,

Delighted to hear you've been following my work. The conference proceedings still havn't appeared in the IEEE Xplore listings so the paper is publicly unavailable at the moment. I've attached the paper for your reading. Hope you find it interesting. :)

Out of curiosity, what type of implant did you get? They doing alright?

I am planning to put my implant interface to daily use sensory injection starting Feb. Will publish some details on the blog then...

Regards,
Jawish

Greetings Jawish,

I've been following your blog for some time now after finding you searching for magnetic implant related blogs.  I've had mine for 6 or 8 months now.

I also do research in the field of haptics, so I was very excited to see your published work.  So far I have yet to be able to find the paper though.  Would you be willing to send a copy over?

Thanks,
Jacob

Its just the same old same old if you've been talking to me or reading about these the past few years.  This is just really interesting as it finally 'legitimizes' this research in the scientific community, making sure they know about this layman research, and gives me a citation I can watch for in other peoples work.
