Hey all,

In cleaning out my garage I realized that I have a 10x10 canopy tent
that the lab could use for festivals, outdoor events, or outings to
the desert for high speed photography, etc. It's the type used by
various vendors and organizations at outdoor events. It's just plain
white with zip-in walls if you want to configure it with 1,2,3, or 4
walls as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure it's this one here:
http://reviews.costco.com/2070/11257490/caravan-10-x-10-canopy-reviews/reviews.htm
The reviews of it are mixed, mostly bagging on the bag, which is well
deserved. The bag for it has wheels that broke after the first use.
Otherwise the couple of events I used this for went well. It goes up
quickly, and the frame is sturdy.

As for storage it folds up into about 1sqft x 6ft tall. Everything
folds into the bag.

Anyone see a need for this at the lab? If not, anyone else want it?

I think it'd be awesome for the space to have.

That said, dibs if the lab doesn't want it.

It would be perfect for the technology swap meet we have in the parking lot now that we're talking about it.

Well it may be a few weeks, so I'll drop it off upstairs at the lab with a donation note on it probably on or around Oct 22. If it gets used great, if not, expect to see it later in a thread titled "Stuff we need to get rid of" or something like the same. Then it's fair game :)

I agree it'd be great for an outdoor display of HeatSync awesomesauce if we want to set up a tent and do some outdoor stuff at a MakerFaire, at first Friday, backlot swap meets, or at any similar events. It's also a blank white canvas if anyone thinks it needs some decoration.

The canopy tent is now upstairs at the lab.  Feel free to use it.

Just in time for a weekend in the desert.
Thanks, Harry!

Maybe we can paint some flags or something to sew onto it with the HeatSync Logo to show off to the other teams at the launch site! Also make it easier to find the right tent to come back to after staring into the sun watching you rocket go up out of sight!

I'm toying with the idea of kidnapping our banner for that purpose.

Also, why don't we have an HSL Flag?

Can we laser cut a stencil and make dags, flags, banners, etc to attach to the donated tent? The spray paint onto fabric or something similar?

I've done it in the past and have the SVG sitting on the HSL machine; i'll be
at the lab tonight to make this happen.
