National Recreation Trails Program A national trail system comprised of
National Recreation Trails, National Scenic Trails and National Historic
Trails. National Recreation Trails provide for numerous outdoor recreation
activities in a variety of urban, rural and remote areas. By the year
2000, over 800 trails, available for public use and ranging from less than
a mile to 485 miles in length, have been designated as NRT's on federal,

New York-Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club The Mohawk-Hudson Cycling Club
consists of over 700 members who live and cycle in the greater Capital

Pennsylvania Twisted Spokes Located in the Appalachian mountains of North
Central Pennsylvania, Tioga County offers two car-free bike paths,

lands. The Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Challenge, a race on the trails of
the Tioga State Forest every September, and in June, host the Laurel Flyer
Road Race - through the backroads of Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon country.
During spring, summer and fall they organize regular weekly group rides.
Pennsylvania Western Wheelmen The Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen (WPW),
founded in 1969, is one of the largest bicycle clubs in Pennsylvania. WPW
is a non-profit educational and recreational organization for bicycle
enthusiasts in the Pittsburgh, PA area, promoting the general interests of
bicyclists, to educate bicyclists in safe riding methods in adherence to
the State Vehicle Code, defending the rights of bicyclists, and advocate
the use of bicycles for pleasure, health, and transportation.

club provides at least one ride for each level of cyclist: the beginner,
the socialist and the intermediate biker. All rides are in the surrounding
Seattle areas. Monthly outings, (1-3 day excursions) adventure to places
like the Washington Coast, Olympic Pennisula, Vancouver Island, Yakima
Wine Country or Mount Rainier National Park. The "Clubhouse" contains over
200 Northwest Bicycle Map/Cue Sheets for area rides along with many other
resource pages for the on-road cyclist.
