Subject: Building Facebook Communities

Dear all,
Happy Diwali to one and all. We are a Pune based e-commerce company into
Consumer Electronics, trying to build a facebook community. If any of our
members have got some innovative ideas they have tried out / applied some
marketing strategy do let us know. Some of you who can help with the same
can send in their ideas / proposal. I found a document the other day which
is on the importance of building such community which I'm sharing with the
group. Also these are the things which I have in mind:

   - Tie up with some facebook community like 'Aap xyz hain' with a
following of more than a million subscriber who posts your link in every
joke / pic they post in a day (I have been quoted about 10K / month by one
of them, don't know how much worth will it be, payment upfront - result may
   may-not be favourable)
   - Launching competitions to Like + Share your page to win incentive
(Electronic gadget / Trip to Thailand / Movie Couple Passes... some ideas
on the incentive will also help)
   - Freelancer who charge you per like to increase your likes and build
facebook community (here the results are sure shot)
   - Facebook Ads (we are already doing that)
   - SEO for our site (that is also on)

Let me know what are your views on all of these and anything extra which
you think can help. Currently there is no targeted marketing as  we have
consumer electronics from all brands to all range. Thank you.

*Cheers !!!

Whatever you do never go for the freelancer option because you would either
get fake likes (bots) or non engaging users (spammers).

hi

first and far most is why you want to build fb community??? you should be
sure and clear about it. for example is it for branding [awareness] or
sales etc. then you can concentrate on following ideas according to that.

i am answering ur questions

Tie up with some facebook community like 'Aap xyz hain' with a following of
more than a million subscriber who posts your link in every joke / pic they
post in a day (I have been quoted about 10K / month by one of them, don't
know how much worth will it be, payment upfront - result may may-not be
favourable)
this will help you in building fans/likes but sales likely to happen bcoz
they are game lovers.

Launching competitions to Like + Share your page to win incentive
(Electronic gadget / Trip to Thailand / Movie Couple Passes... some ideas
on the incentive will also help)
this will help in both sales and awareness but before that you need to have
enough fans/subscribers otherwise who will participate???

Freelancer who charge you per like to increase your likes and build
facebook community (here the results are sure shot)
i dont know which results you are talking about but this will help u in
building fan base but most of them are inactive accounts. and sales rarely
possible.

Facebook Ads (we are already doing that)
now this what i call intelligent investing. here you can bring targeted
traffic to your fb page/website. this will give you real publicity and
sales.

SEO for our site (that is also on)
this is also very good in long run. This is less expensive than ppc. but
make sure the keywords you are optimized has good traffic and buyer
keywords.

For building and then engaging communities, there are different things you
need to do -

In early stage, contests with some FB advertising can really push your
numbers. We have seen companies gather 10K likes within weeks due to such
campaigns.

You can read several case studies here -
https://www.socialappshq.com/help/case-studies

Also, to engage, focus on a core message/story and then put all your
communication/messaging around it e.g. say, you are "megastore of awesome
electronics"(I am just making it up) - then focus on various interesting
electronic products, reviews etc. AND PLEASE DON'T post another Diwali/Holi
message as my newsfeed is full of it already.

Thx

hello,

1st option seems good and I have used fb ads myself.....the people who
liked my page appeared to be fake (count the number of pages they have
liked or their status updates etc). I think fb has come up with a new
feature where in you can put an offer of your product and this will help
you in cross-checking percentage of real profiles out of fake one... These
are my observations as I used to put a small amount on fb ads and
cross-check each profile which has liked my page.

Regards

Vikrant
