Hi Headstart,

We are in need of a couple of PRI Lines (E1)

Our Location : Pitampura, Delhi

It would be great if people already using PRI lines can answer the
following questions :

1) Which subscriber offers the best plans ( Our requirement is less
than 5k calls/month, low setup fee and rental). I have heard Airtel
and Mtnl offer these lines. Any other vendors in this business ?

2) Any idea about the downtime of lines of specific vendors ?

3) Customer support and post sales service of PRI vendors ?

Looking forward to hear your opinions and experiences.

Best,
Puneet Kaura

Hi Puneet,

We currently are using three PRI lines from 3 different operators. My replies are inline -

1) Which subscriber offers the best plans ( Our requirement is less
than 5k calls/month, low setup fee and rental). I have heard Airtel and Mtnl offer these lines. Any other vendors in this business ?

Almost all the telecom providers provide PRI lines. The real pain is not the rental or the post installation service but the process of Installation which can itself take anything between 1 week - if you are lucky to 4 weeks, depending upon your ability to pull strings.

Rentals start from 5k per month which includes free incoming calls and outgoing both STD and local at 1rs/min or 75ps/min. Depends on operator and circle.

2) Any idea about the downtime of lines of specific vendors ?

Typically there is a SLA ensuring 95% uptime

3) Customer support and post sales service of PRI vendors ?

Experience with Airtel and Reliance has been great so far. TTL also offers decent support. Reliance apparently against it's image was the one who was the quickest while installation.

Looking forward to hear your opinions and experiences.

Best,
Puneet Kaur

Hope this helps

Hi Puneet,

We have been using Airtel PRI lines for couple of months now and are
planning on switching to TATA Indicom. Please find my observations
regarding your questions below:

1. There are various plans offered by the operators, starting from
around 2000.00 per month. If you choose a higher plan, they also
provide you free talk time. The operators that we researched while
procuring the PRI line are Airtel, BSNL and TATA Indicom.
2. So far, with Airtel, the downtime experience has been quite less -
two instances which got fixed up within 15 minutes. Although their
response about the downtimes was less than satisfactory.
3. Frankly, customer support from Airtel sucks. Based on the feedback
from the technical folks at JustDial, we came to know that TATA
Indicom offers good rates on PRI and their customer support is also
decent. From the experience that we had during our discussions with
TATA Indicom folks, we felt that these guys do care a lot about start-
ups and have gone out of their way to help us setup the line.

Do let me know if you need any further clarifications.

Regards,
Anshuman
