Just a couple of slightly amusing observations:

One student kept writing things like, " and then im going to the
grocery store...im writing my paper...im talking to my boyfriend on the
phone." I kept fixing it to "I'm." Finally I asked her, "Do you text
a lot?" And she said, "Oh. Guess so."

Today I asked a student if she had a grammar handbook. She didn't. I
reached over to the shelf and got one. She said, "Oh, the Tim McGraw
handbook."

Um. McGraw-Hill should be flattered to be confused with Tim McGraw.
