Here's more pictures from Wednesday's wonderful event.

HBRC Challenge 2012

I want to thank everyone who attended and especially those who participated. Personal memorable events include:

* John Erickson's "Chocolate Charlene" (Charlene is his robot).
* "Springy" taking a fall but still running... as did my TABLEBot "Buggy1" (Phase IV!). Note: not all memories good. It's always a struggle... I'm aware of several robots that didn't quite make it (Murphy!)... including "blue smoke" incidents. :-O Here's to you! (including Alan, Patrick and Jim).
* Rohan's new ROS-based General Purpose Robot which was both a TABLEBot and a FloorBot!
* Sidharth's new FloorBot which is off to a good start... it moves!
* Lucas' KFC Chicken 'bot.
* Ralph Gnauck, who has almost as many homebrewed robots as me. ;-)
* The always zany Ciprianos.
* One word: Brutus!
* My old robot-building buddy, Steve Nelson from Sacrobotics with Beer2D2, Lynxbot and the small Kinect-based dancing skeleton.
* Ross who demo'ed his TurtleBot and will be moving to Toronto but promises to stay in-touch on-line and visit periodically.
* For the record my FloorBot "Mo" did move back-and-forth across the floor: https://picasaweb.google.com/107904788128907576380/HBRC062712#5759286...

This was a record attendance but frankly I think we were a little light on robots. August is another opportunity... let's get those soldering irons smokin' and do it again in two months.

Thanks!
Camp

You can add DVDbot to the list of bots that "didn't quite make it." A loose wire led to me releasing the "magic smoke" from one of my servo controller boards. :(

I've already visited Jameco and picked up a replacement and now have a month to get my wiring under control and will be back in August to complete phase 1.

Thanks to Camp and Wayne and everyone else who brought food or took pictures or just showed up to show their bot or see others run. Or in my case fail.

Actually you DID make... you showed up... and for the record it ran fine at the SIG so you have completed "Phase I" (as if we're keeping track). Please bring it again in July for a redo (Show-and-Tell is every month!) and/or I'm sure we'll see the DVDbot again in August for "Phase II".

Thanks,
Camp
