Subject: Migration
Hi

I noticed the other day that the ospreys from both the Forres area and
Loch Garten area are on their annual micration.  They have just
started so if you wish to follow their fortunes have a look at the
following two sites:

http://roydennis.org/
http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/tracking/lochgartenospreys/index.asp

Additionally Roy Denis seems to have managed to radio tag a two Honey
Buzzards which are great to track.  He states details to follow when
they start to migrate, normally early September.

Super Whooper 2009 was following the swans north but some of the
transmitters may still be functioning so I will include the web site
here in the hope it is updated. (actually I have just checked and they
are updating but we will have to be patient as they are a good deal
later to move than the ospreys.

Sadly from Roy's site:  "...in early August with many projects on the
go, but sadly it started off badly with the news about the illegal
killing of the young eagle, named Alma, which we had been tracking for
two years."

That was one I had followed so it is particulary upsetting to hear
this.

Regards
Jimmy
