2009 Dinner Theatre Auditions

Nothing beats the winter doldrums like joining the cast and crew of
the Annual Dinner Theatre. The madness starts in early January and
takes it clear up to the Ides of March, when spring is knocking at the
calendar’s door. Quite a ride, eh? Wanna join?

Auditions are Monday, January 5th at 6:00 PM at Hawkeye Theatre, 521
North 12th Street, in Fort Dodge, IA. Rehearsals will start the
following Monday, January 12th.The cast calls for 4 women and 2 men.
Besides the cast HCT needs costumes, set, painting, decorating, make-
up and of course all the front of house duties coordinated for each
show.

The 2009 season opener is “Any Body Home?” a full length two-act
comedy/farce by Carl Ritchie and Elise Dewsberry. Real estate broker
Susan Strathcona wants to hold an open house, sell a condo and earn
her commission. Frustrating her attempts are the owner's fiancé who is
bursting to prove his masculinity; the little old sex-pot next door
with her deadly herbs and a scorpion named "Shirley"; the
international police on the trail of the mysterious "Phantom" and a
rival real estate agent who will don any disguise in his attempts to
steal the listing. Oh, yes. And the owner—who is dead and laid out on
the sofa! An uproariously funny farce.

The comedy runs for two extended weekends in March by reservation
only. Tea Thyme at Sadies caters the full course dinner served in the
lower level of the theatre which precedes the performance each night.
This event sells out quickly, so as soon as tickets are available,
grab them.

Stacey Bochart and Martha McColley are assistant directors for this
show. Director is Michael Shoopman.
