Lambda Jam ([link]) is a new conference for functional
programmers, particularly those working in Clojure, Scala, Erlang, Haskell,
F#, etc. The conference format is a mix of traditional sessions (morning)
and hands-on workshops and "jams" in the afternoon.
We have three excellent keynotes:

functional programmers, specifically languages like Erlang, Clojure, Scala,
Haskell, F#, etc. Lambda Jam will take place in Chicago July 8-10 and will

Not yet. I do aerial arts though (silks, trapeze, etc), and am
learning tumbling (can't do any good tricks yet, but getting close on
the basics like handsprings, etc). Also working on creating some
functional reactive programming based LED clothing.

ICFP/CUFP is US based every other year I believe.

Personally, I would like to see something less formal and more fun
based. A combination of the functional programming scene, the
Maker/DIY scene, and burning man.

I don't know if the coffee shop will be the best environment for
presentations. We may want to rethink. I was suggesting that for more of a
"get together, hack on stuff, and informally talk about stuff" location.

Sounds great to me.

Important question: Does anyone have a projector? That was an issue

Yup! I am still here in Chicago and maintaining Happstack. I would
love to hear about Yesod and Snap experiences. I'd also be happy to
give a presentation on any topic.

I've been programming a lot with Snap. I think the Happstack maintainer is
actually in Chicago and on this mailing list as well. He's
extremely knowledgeable about Haskell and web programming.

We have a class for beginners, then open discussion. Also there's beer
in the fridge. If anyone is interested in doing a presentation, we are
game! We have a classroom with a projector.

Haskell class and CHUG meetup proposal

Following the last CHUG meetup at Pumping Station One (PS1) I conversed
with Jeremy about using PS1's facility to host regular meetings. I
propose hosting a CHUG meetup on the fourth Thursday of each month at
8pm at PS1. I have a class scheduled at that time that will run during
