Hi, I'm new to CHUG and new to google groups in general. Is there an info section where I can find meeting dates and things of that nature? I live in the city and work as a .NET developer. Thanks ahead of time!

No meetings lately. I'd love it if we had a meeting.
Any topics of interest? I can talk about my experiences with Yesod.

I've been programming a lot with Snap. I think the Happstack maintainer is
actually in Chicago and on this mailing list as well. He's
extremely knowledgeable about Haskell and web programming.
What kind of environment do you guys want? I set up a CHUG event in the
past at a tea/coffee shop which had really good food. I think the owner
said he'd give our group a discount if we came again.

Yup! I am still here in Chicago and maintaining Happstack. I would
love to hear about Yesod and Snap experiences. I'd also be happy to
give a presentation on any topic.

I don't know if the coffee shop will be the best environment for
presentations. We may want to rethink. I was suggesting that for more of a
"get together, hack on stuff, and informally talk about stuff" location.
I'll check with the office manager at work here and see if we can have it
at Allston Trading. It's downtown in the loop. We could get pizza and some
beer or something.

We're good to go to have the meetup and presentation at Allston. We have
access to a projector here. Jeremy, let me know what time frame you're
thinking about for the presentation and we'll get it set up. Probably ~6pm
some weekday?

Hey just putting my two cents in. I'm only in the area for the summer/fall but would love to talk to some Haskellers face to face. I actually have Robert to thank for piquing my interest in Haskell. Last time I was in town I came to one of his classes at Pumping Station One. That was the first time I realized the Haskell wasn't just for stuffy academics, but a deep and elegant well of curiosity you never quite find your way out of.
@Luke, I'm going to be at Hac Phi, hope to see you there.
I've got a (IMHO) pretty sweet declarative command line option parsing library I could do a presentation on. It has really lowered the cognitive barrier for me on exposing some project I'm working on as a CLI app. I now use it for rapid prototyping and exposing projects for exploratory work, even if the finished product isn't intended for the command line.
