I get this message when starting Bendometer: Microphone line format
not supported. Please check your audio hardware settings.

The sound section of control panel for the Realtek High Definition
Audio does not show anything about line levels.

Any ideas?

Also, I registered and submitted a payment for Bendometer previously.
Does this registration apply to a new installation?

You might try going to mic settings and selecting a different mixer.

Unfortunately, there are zero mixers on the Bendometer installed on this computer. On my other computer there are several mixer options. Both computers are using Vista. Can you offer any other advice. Thanks.

The computer either doesn't have a sound card, or it can't be found.

Mp3’s, DVDs, and iTunes all produce audio. Device Manager should a Realtek High Definition Audio under the Sound tab. I just tried to update the driver but it said I already had the most current one.

Is there a way to make Bendometer find the sound device.

I suppose its possible it thinks its already in use, you might try closing all other sound apps (even try reboot). You might make sure Java is up-to-date, maybe there was a bug in the version you have. I haven't heard of this happening before though. Sometimes it defaults to the wrong one, but I haven't heard of it not finding any sound device.

I reinstalled Java, shut down the computer, and tried Bendometer again with it as the only program running. I still get the message, “Microphone line format not supported.” Should I uninstall and reinstall Bendometer?

You can try, I doubt that will help. I haven't heard of this before, though. If you've paid, let me know and I can refund.

I paid about 2 years ago so no problem. I am running the program on another computer. Let me know if I need to pay again.

On the other computer everything works fine.

I wonder of this Reltek card uses some new standard, or something.
