Hello
I am a partner in a small software house specialising in Mumps, Cache and GTM. We are based in the U.K and have worked on projects in the Health Service.
I would be interested in joining your community since I feel I and my partner might have something to offer. Currently we have been working on a questionnaire system with the app written and configured for use on iPad and Android mobiles and tablets.
We work closely with Rob Tweed of M-Gatewy.

How do we join Hard Hats ?
Kind Regards

Keith Kelland

Keith,

Something you may be interested in!

We're seeking a M Developer for a VHA ICD-10 project.  The person needs to have a current 85P as the project already well underway and is anticipated to run through June 2012 (with another option year).

This is a telecommute opportunity!

You are in the right place. Welcome!!

Since you have succeeded in posting to Hardhats, I would say you have joined.

I hope you will consider joining WorldVistA as well. I would be happy to
talk to you about that if you wish. Just contact me by email and we can
arrange a time to talk.

Welcome Keith. We here know Rob well and admire the work he's doing
with mobile applications.
Stay connected with this group - you'll almost always find something
interesting and useful.

Thanks Marty!

Actually the reason I encouraged Keith to post here was because
several people at the VCM in Sacramento talked to me about developing
mobile web applications for patient surveys/questionnaires. Keith's
SelectAhead application (an EWD/Sencha Touch app) is potentially an
excellent model which could, in my opinion, be modified to provide the
kind of functionality required for a clinical setting. I'm sure it
could easily be hooked into VistA to integrate it to patient data.
I'd recommend that anyone interested in this kind of thing should get
in touch with Keith rather than reinvent a wheel

Incidentally, you got an error because you used a different e-mail address than Nancy's.
Her e-mail is: nanth...@earthlink.net
(you spelled out her first name on the e-mail address below.)

I believe an 85P is the US Government Security Questionnaire for
Public Trust Positions

  (Standard Form 85P)
available on the web
   http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf85p.pdf

And it seems to be explained here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080304110356AAWGqFZ

When filling out the 85P, it obviously isnt a security clearance
rather there are different levels of 'public trust positions' and
associated risk levels that are assigned by the federal government.
The type of investigation that is conducted depends on the 'level of
trust' and level of 'risk' of the specific job. Most agencies use
these levels: Low, moderate, high.

A low risk position may have the following investigation type:
Fingerprint check, NCIC check.

A moderate position may have:
National agency check (NAC) which is a national police check, FBI and
other agencies.
A NACI (National Agency Check with Written inquiries). Basically they
send letters of inquiry to specfic persons or places of your
particular background going back 5 years.

High Risk may have this investigation:
Could include what is called an LBI (limited background investigation)
which involves a personal inverview with an investigator, a national
agency check, credit check and written inquiries to specific areas of
your background going back AT LEAST 5 years. Personal interviews may
be conducted in specific areas of your background going back at least
3 years. Depending on the agency, more in depth investigations may be
utilized for high risk positions. Each agency has their own standards,
but are generally the same across the board.
