I have successfully installed Vista and configured CPRS to use, but i
would like to add more users and clients and also understand the
communication between CPRS GUI and VISTA. If anyone can guide me to
right place to get some documentation or tutorials that would be
great.
I have a small physician's office that had asked me to give them a
demo and i need to learn these components before my demo.
i really appreciate any help...

Do a search in this message board for TMG GUI Config. It is an
application I created to help users like yourself get up and running,
and makes adding users and patients easier.

I get below errors when i run GUI Config.exe app
WSAETIMEDOUT and Login Failed
and the app closes after this.
I thought  may be my broker is not running so i tested it using borker app that i installed and the connection is working fine.
Which login it is looking for and why is it timing out?

Regards

Can you connect with CPRS? GUI config does a standard login to the
RPC broker.

There are kids patches that have to be installed on the server. Have
you installed them? The .TXT file should have instructions about how
to do this.

Actually, If you are using Astronaut, then Ignacio may have already
put them on for you. But your user will have to have permission to
use GUI Config.....

Let's start by seeing if you can connect with CPRS.

Hmmm......

Are you using IPV6 by any chance?

Are you running GUI-config with a shortcut that specifies the server
IP and the port number? Are these the same as you have for CPRS?

I am not running GUI-Config with shortcut, probably i should just like CPRS.
I will try that and let you know.

Sir,
Look at your shortcut for CPRS. (That works, correct?)
GUI-Config requires the same sort of shortcut. Otherwise it cannot
know where to connect.

From one of my CPRS shortcuts:

"D:\Program Files\Vista\CPRSChart.exe" S=192.168.5.102 P=9201 CCOW=DISABLE

Corresponding shortcut for GUI-Config:

"D:\Program Files\Vista\GUI_Config\GUI_Config.exe" S=192.168.5.102
P=9201 CCOW=DISABLE

Enjoy,
GpZ

Got it working, i was running by double clicking the exe file not the
shortcut. I created the shortcut and added below line S=127.0.0.1
P=9210 CCOW=DISABLE and it started working.
Thanks Kevin and John. Appreciate your support

IPV6 is a newer TCP/IP technology that addresses the issue of running
out of IP addresses. I think Ignacio had problems when his network
was set up to use IPV6.

Anyway, I'm glad you got it going.
