Irrespective, it still present version of M is not making my life any
easier! Where can I find some good tutorials? Also I would appreciate
if someone could guide me to an online compiler for mumps code for
practice on the fly.

There is a very good book by Richard Walters and it is sold on Amazon. The
back half of the book is for experienced programmers and the front for new
programmers. Amazon sells it and AFTER you buy the paperback, you could
purchase a PDF copy as well, or at least you could in the past, which is very
handy.

M programming : a comprehensive guide by Richard Walters

There is also M[UMPS] By Example online written by Ed de Moel.

I just saw that Bhaskar also answered and I forgot about the Programmers
Guide! Sorry for my oversight.

To practice, download and install the WorldVistA dEWDrop VM - it's
been mentioned quite a bit in earlier postings in this group. It
comes with a fully configured, working GT.M environment, so just fire
up the VM in VMWare or VirtualBox and away you go - start practicing!

Thanks guys will be on it! Since amazon is quite ridiculously
expensive in India, some of the online resources I have scouted have
led me to the following links.

http://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/fis-gtm/GT.M-x86-UNIX-ProgGuide/GT.MV4.4/GTM_UNIX-Prog-Manual-4.4.pdf
http://www.vistaexpertise.net/docs/pocket_guide.pdf

Also I am actually going to start working on the WorldVistA dEWDrop VM
as soon as I get my WiFi set up, paying premium cost for data on
mobile is a bad idea! =X

Thanks again for all your help! Hope the http://opensource.com/health/12/2/join-m-revolution
author keeps regularly posting updated tutorials too...

Best wishes
Shouvik

For the latest GT.M documentation, please go to http://fis-gtm.com and click on the User Documentation tab.  The document on Source Forge is of historical interest.
