VISTA is not as good as RPMS (Indian Health Service's) system at
managing population health.
Using VISTA, it does look like you have answered your own questions.
1. Yes and No. If you have the assistance of a VISTA programmer, then
definitely yes. You can run VISTA against lists of patients which are
already defined in VISTA using Reminder Reporting. I don't know if
there is an end user capability to add any patient at a time to a user
specified list in VISTA. I haven't seen it, but it's easy to program.
2. You can use the Reminder Patient Lists feature of VISTA to
periodically query the database for new patients with specific
inclusion and exclusion criteria.
"Quarterly retrospective data is too slow."
Sure! Is daily okay?
