Source code available: June 2008 edition
The June 2008 version of the source code used to run the Hansard Prototype site is available to download. It's available at [link] It's a zipped copy of the most recent version of the code and is more recent than the code that runs on the public site. This code is... more »

Tables
Is there any way of improving how tables display? Take a look at this page: [link], its gobbledygook! The site's looking much better apart from that though. Patrick.

How much data is there, anyway?
We currently have just over half the total number of expected files in the public application. The database and search indexes combine to be about 32Gb. For the full data set, we might say about 64Gb for the total for database and search indexes. We cache most pages too so that would probably add another 40Gb or 50Gb, maybe more. So the total would be... more »

Tiny usability suggestion...
On the main page: [link] The decades are links 1920s, 1930s, etc... It would be great if the sparkline type graphic above the text linked to the same place. Thanks, Matthew

Server upgrades: May 2008
We thought you might like to know how we're going about the next phase of work on the Hansard Prototype. Here's a basic outline of what we're up to in the first couple of weeks of May: - we have a new method of matching and reconciling speaker names, which we're testing out locally - we're building two new servers (not real ones, virtual ones) ready... more »

Lords and Commons
Would it be possible to identify which debates took place in the Lords (why not coloured any indicators red) and the Commons (green) - apart from this, a great site

Source code available: April 2008 edition
The April 2008 version of the source code used to run the Hansard Prototype site is available to download. It's available at [link] It's just a zipped copy of the most recent version of the code, rather than the code that runs on the site. Please note: this code is presently available 'AS-IS' - and, of... more »

Having a lie down, new servers coming soon
We're taking a break for a couple of weeks, until the third week in April. The good news is that further funding has been secured to enable us to get back to work on putting the rest of the information we have online - that is, back to 1804 or thereabouts. This will take some time. We're getting a couple of servers we'll have... more »

30 March: upgrading our servers
We've managed to get some more space on our servers, which means that we should be able to avoid an incident where the site becomes unstable too quickly. We're currently making some changes to the configuration of the servers and hope to be up and show pages again soon.
