Looking for 2-3 octave, level 2-3 hymn tunes.

(We have 5 octaves, but are often short ringers for anything more than 3 octaves)

I have Moklebust's collection earmarked, but looking for other suggestions.

GIA has 3 nice collections arranged by Phil Roberts: Hymns for Handbells 1,2 and 3. They are arranged for 2-5 octaves of handbells and have varying degrees of complexity offered.

In addition, my friend, the former one-hit wonder Chuck Peery, has just released Volume 2 of his hymn collections "Let Praises Ring" for 3-5 octave bells, organ and congregation. (Morningstar) They are fully reproducible.

Sondra Tucker also has some collections: "Flexible Hymn Accompaniments for Handbells" through Morningstar.

Cathy Moklebust's "Hymn Stanzas for Handbells" (Augsburg) are great too, also reproducible.

When looking at hymn accompaniments for a small group, especially when playing with organ, I wouldn't worry about whether it's 3-5 octave, 2-3, or whatever... I tell my ringers anything below A5 probably won't be heard anyway, so play the upper treble bells and smile!

Nice, Thomas; I have not seen these! I was assuming Gail was looking for hymn accompaniments, but these would fill the bill for 2-3 octave arrangements for anthems or preludes.

Actually, not looking for hymn "accompaniment" more like easy-peasy-quick-and-dirty-familiar-tune-for-prelude. ;-)

My new "Crown Him with Many Crowns" might fit the bill.  Choristers Guild CGB771.  Has an optional C or Bb instrumental part.

The book from Hope is $40 for 8 pieces (reproducible) - all best sellers.

10 copies of a bell octavo is $40-50 for 10 copies of ONE piece.

See, math saves the day again!!

Looking at the table of contents, I see FTS's ulterior motive. :-)

We liked Anna Laura Page's reproducible book "In Glad Adoration" from Lorenz. It is Level 2 but they sound pretty (Just so you know, The "I Sing The Mighty Power of God" uses the Forest Green tune)
