I am back to usenet and want to setup a hamster server on my home
computer. First hierarchy to add is certainly hamster.en; but when I
add news.uni-x.net(hamster:hamster) as before, the host cannot be
reached anymore. Does the server still exist? If not, please give a
server that allow posting to hamster.en.*. Thank you.

I've never used news.uni-x.net. I've just telnetted to it on port
119, but didn't get a response.

nntp.aioe.org (no sign up required) and news.motzarela.org (sign up at
<http://www.motzarela.org/>) both carry hamster.* newsgroups.

Thanks for the info. I had tried news.aioe.org with no luck(it just
hangs without responding leaving a dead job pending which must be
cleared using HamNewsJobsClear), but nntp.aioe.org seems works. Strange
they should belong to the same network.

p.s. Cannot open http://www.motzarela.org/.

Use the correct spelling: http://www.motzarella.org/

Also, nntp.aioe.org is the right server name but aioe have had
some problems last week and may only be available for pulling,
not posting, at the moment.

nntp.aioe.org seems to the recommended way to access the AIOE news
server, however I can also access it via news.aioe.org. The service
was down for a few days last week, which may explain why you had
problems accessing it.

The Motzarella WWW address should have been
<http://www.motzarella.org/>. Sticky finger problem. :)

Well this is a Hamster PG server! I'll add it as a backup. Thank you.
If I got a stable machine I will think of open a public Hamster server too.
