Chaining Filters? (or a :preserve_and_escape filter)

A lot of times I find myself wanting to put examples of HTML in my
pages, in a pre tag. What I'd want for this is the ability to chain
filters together, so that I could do something like :preserve:escaped.
I guess the other thing that'd work is a :preserve_and_escape filter...
