Hi!  I just saw this and wanted to say hello, I'm here too!  I am a 'Pin lurker in Saskatoon.  I would totally be up for a Saskatchewan pin up!  That's a lot of exclamation points but...hooray for another Prairie Pinner!

Yay!! I tried to reply to your earlier posting, we should definitely meet up, even if it does seem to be only us two out here.
I just google mapped to see if there was a good place to meet in between the two cities, but I am coming up a little blank...Lumsden is not really halfway. Which city would you prefer to meet in? Saskatoon is probably nicer but maybe you REALLY love driving...? And dates, we need ideas for dates; I'll be away for a few weeks this summer but am otherwise free most weekends. What is your schedule like?

This is so exciting!  I have plans for a couple of weekends this summer, but mostly I am free on the weekend.  I think Davidson or Craik are about halfway but I have no idea what is in either of those towns?  I think there is an A&W in Davidson haha.  The Best Time I Met An Awesome Internet Stranger at an A&W In the Middle of Nowhere?  ANYWAY...yes, it doesn't really matter to me, I could drive down one weekend for sure.  What dates work for you?

Well, this weekend (July 14 &15) or next weekend (21 &22) would be good. I wonder how often you check this...those are maybe short notice for you? Things get a little busy for me after that with a summer trip and then a two month training session starting. I am taking my year 2 apprenticeship module and it is a VERY intense 8 weeks of school. Once I get into the rythym I will need breaks from studying though, for certain.
I will totally meet you in Davidson! That would be ridiculous! I just googled it up (unrelated did you see the big triangle of roads just to the East of the city on google maps? wtf?) and it sounds like there is also apparently a "chinese" restaurant and a hotel/bar. Just in case we get too full of rootbeer and orange decor. I can bring my travel crib board and pretend I'm my own grandfather if we play afternoon cribbage in a small town bar!
If you feel inspired to come to the wonderous rhyming city (which I would also love) I will put on my best hostess skills and we can take a walk/gawk by Wascana Lake and I will offset your gas costs by buying or making you the ingestibles of your choice. I'm going to leave that particular ball in your court, since you have to decide on the level of driving you are feeling up to.
To close, can I just say how nice it is to be this excited to meet an internet stranger? I've met alot of people through couchsurfing, woofing and general travel but it still gets me every time.

Hello!  I just sent you a text, hope you got it!  I am busy next weekend with a surprise road trip to Winnipeg, but I am free tomorrow (July 15).  I know that is also super short notice, so if it doesn't work out we can always plan another time!  It would be awesome to meet up and play cribbage (I am a terrible cribbage player but love it anyway).  Have a great day!

Hi Laurel,
As you can tell I don't get updated when someone posts to this thread. So hello!
I can think of at least three commenters from Winnipeg that I've noted over various FOTs...I have thought of pestering you all for a meeting there, but it seems sooooo faaar to drive, especially in the snowy season.
 If I'm ever in Winnipeg for work or a concert though I am totally going to bother you now. Please do the same to me if you come through Regina! Except it won't be a bother, because 'pinners are lovely.

Hi Laurel!

Thanks!  So far, so good--I like Winnipeg!  Any suggestions for when/where?  My schedule is pretty open at the moment--I teach at the U of M but only have one course this semester so I'm flexible for meeting times.  I'm in Wolseley, with no car but a bus pass, so I can easily get to the exchange, or Osborne Village, or whatever.  Any thoughts?

Maybe we can describe ourselves so we can find each other?? I will be in a grey parka, with a grey hat and grey scarf, and either a grey backpack or a brown purse.  My personality is at least slightly more colourful than this description would suggest.  I'm 30 and I have long dark blonde hair.  Looking forward to meeting you all!
