There was a thread about happy hour in the loop, maybe on April 9th
(tomorrow)? Is this still happening?

It looked to me like the plan was happy hour at Midtown Kitchen,
tomorrow. I'd happily show up, if that's what it is.

I asked on the Friday Open Thread if it was still happening, and it
seemed like at least a handful of people are going. I've never been to
a pinup, but I am planning on going to Midtown Kitchen tomorrow at
5:30ish, so hopefully people will be there! At least it's a half block
from the brown line, so I can escape quickly if I chicken out...

It was so lovely to meet you guys tonight, and I wish I could have
talked to more of you!
Upon leaving I had two thoughts:
(1) Where I was sitting there was some discussion of going to
Improvised Shakespeare at iO some Friday soon. I would love to
actually do that!
(2) That reminded me of another thing having to do with Fridays that
might be of interest to this brainy crowd: I co-run a new baby event
series at the Southside Hub of Production in Hyde Park. At 7pm on the
20th of each month, which this month is a Friday, we have a night of
sort-of-pecha-kucha: 6-minute-40-second spoken pieces, structured and
accompanied by 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. Last month the
theme was ROOTS; this month it's INVISIBLE. If you are so inclined,
please come! And if you are inclined to present, please drop me a line
about that too.

Lauren is going to plan the next monthly event (just picking a place
and date, really), but obviously there's no reason not to have as many
meet-ups as enthusiasm allows!
Also, Celeste and I are going to have a meet-up in our back yard some
weekend afternoon. We'll let you know once we've picked a date!

Bahh, I think I replied to Josiah personally instead of the whole
thread. Anyways, what I tried to say was that I had a great time last
night, and I really enjoyed meeting (almost) everyone! I wish I had
gotten to talk to/gotten to know people a little more, but that's what
future pinups are for! Josiah left me in charge of planning the next
monthly Loop happy hour, so I will post later this month with some
ideas.
