Subject: Making xmas decoratins for common

Yo,

Common have asked if we fancy making some xmas decorations using the center
parts from some single use kegs they have in exchange for food and drink.
These are spheres, about 40cm diameter.  Made of a plastic similar to coke
bottles, but a lot thicker.  We have 3 to play with in the space.  Here is
a random picture from the Internet of one:

Any ideas what we should make in them?  I'm thinking of making a spinning
POV snowglobe thats built inside one, ship-in-a-bottle style.  We dont have
long, only 2 or 3 weeks, so whatever we make has to be achievable in that
timeframe.

-Bob

I think we should be able to make one with a stepper motor and a bunch
of RGB LEDS, and then frost the outside of the glass and make a funky
disco light.

I have one of those crappy 'desktop executive toys' that I rescued and
have always intended to do something with.  It has 4 chromed wavy rods
that rotate and sort of cross over each other as they do so, a bit
difficult to describe but here's a picture.  That could be put inside
the globe with some RGB LEDs, with it being reflective it might look OK.
It runs off 2 'C' batteries.

I'm going to be in the space tonight from 7ish building a spinning POV
xmas tree to try and fit inside one of these.  If anyone fancies
giving me a hand, turn up!
