Hi everyone,

I am selling my 1987 IBM Model M clicky keyboard, which features
buckling springs. It is very clean:

This model has special metal stabilizers instead of the plastic ones
seen with the later Model Ms. Each key functions as it should and has
a crisp clickiness. The springs were all professionally checked and
replaced if necessary.

I'm throwing in one new/unused original Unicomp red Esc keycap.

Price: S$90 only for any Singapore buyer.

For more pictures (I have many of this keyboard) or questions, please
feel free to contact me.

Cheers,
Andy

I might be interested, and I'm in SG... :)

What does it use to connect? PS/2 or mini-DIN?

Just curious. Why is so costly? Is it worth an item as in Computer
History Museum.
I think, I have one lying around in India which I purchased for INR
1200 in 1998.

To give a perspective, a new mechanical keyboard is about this price. As a vantage item, 90 worths it.

Hi JC,

It's PS/2. In the past, I've used the keyboard with a USB to PS/2
adapter without any issues.

:) $90 is a great price for this mechanical keyboard, especially if
you are picking it up in Singapore. It's rare in these parts, and
shipping costs if you acquire it in the US will be astronomical.

Some people consider the Model M the best keyboard ever made:

It's really that good. In addition to still having its clickiness,
this keyboard is special because it is very well maintained
cosmetically. You will find it very difficult to find such a
well-maintained specimen at this price.

Best regards,

Andy

This is a classic keyboard made my IBM (later made by Lexmark), until you have used one you will not understand the quality of its construction or the feedback you get from using it.  I have one and can highly recommend - 90 dollars is a good price if it is in good working order.

I would recommend it too, because I have used it! :-)

Hi Andy,

Doh, got that wrong. The PS/2 connector *is* a mini-DIN. I was
thinking of the full size DIN...

Any chance I can meet up with you to have a look. Am probably going
to go for it... :)

Hi Jasper,

The keyboard is currently on hold pending a sale.

If I get my hands on another IBM Model M keyboard in excellent/mint
condition, I'll let you know. Thank you for your interest.

Best regards,

Andy
