Hello Guys,

News from rails beginners, our rails site finally has a mvp open for preview registration! It's hosted in Amazon AWS (free tier) instead of Heroku (need to pay).

It's quite simple in this preview version, please give it a test drive and try to figure out what it could do for you! (a social

bookmark? a news aggregator? etc....)

We consider you the idea leaders and early adopters. Please do drop us an email for anything you want to say!

Cheers!

The Real Team

p.s. please don't laugh at us if you can not help, we just try to follow the book Four Steps to Epiphany :)

I get this when I click on the "Blog" in top right hand corner..

"Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress."

"Email has already been taken"

It's a BAD idea to ask people to sign up to test drive something they
have no clue about.

Also, have a look at http://bootswatch.com/ to use something different
from a default theme...

Agree.

You may just login using te...@test.com as username and 'test' as password.

In later stage when it's ready for public, ppl will see what's inside
without login.

Thank you for your comments!

I'm confused. So what does it do?

Looks like a facebook timeline clone.

Yah, currently it can be quite confusing...

For example, you may use it as Hacker News for any topics not only hacker related news. (we havent implement the commits function though) Anyone can have a link promote/sharing board by topic. You may also consider it a different version of delicious bookmark?

Currently Facebook is a social network based on social relations. This one, like many others, is trying to add social interests in the graph. a content sharing/social network based on interests of same topics.

Sounds very similar to what Digg did later in it's life. Or Google+ for that matter.. Or?

Hi Laurence:

Our website is mean to give you new way of searching and sharing useful resources.

Today Google organized the whole world's information, but still sometimes when we wanted to search something using their engine, the results might not be so accurate, or might not satisfy us. And sometimes the results are just too many, we can hardly tell which one is really matters to us.

Here in Real Thematics, we're trying to give you another way of doing the similar thing you'll do on Google.

We are organizing information by topics to give you more categorized information and we allow our users to rate the resources in order to let you know how others think about this particular resource.

We are trying to help you learn something new faster and more effectively by using our website.
And also we give you a new way of communicating or social with each other, yes, it's by sharing topics and resources.

We think this way of learning and sharing is quite interesting, and we hope you'll like it like we do.

Again, thank you for your comments!

Regards,
Brandon Gao

Well. Many websites are doing the similar thing right now, we just want to make ours more special than them. So to achieve that, we need more comments :DD.
