as the author of a couple of RFCs i would love to attend, but unfortunately I'm tied up at http://techventure.com.sg/2012/programme/ that day.

Can Hackerspace invite him to a beer later in the evening around Arab Street?

I am sure he will be OK if his schedule permits. You might want to
reach out to Raj of ISOC. Send me private email and I will link you
up.

Hey everybody,

it looks like we'll be able to do a wine and cheese, or alternatively beer and pakora, this Wednesday.

I'm trying to gauge interest in meeting Bernard Aboba – who would like to come and say hi? If at least five people speak up and say they will, then let's go ahead.

One problem: I can't be there until about 9pm. We can start earlier, like 7pm, if people would prefer, but someone else would need to host.

(I'll be coming late because someone in the government wants to talk to me about the national conversation and entrepreneurship. Does anyone have any requests for me to pass on? Happy to represent the interests of geeks, hackers, and entrepreneurs.)

Speaking of government, the IETF is kind of like the Internet's legislative branch, but super efficient because we dispense with the elected representatives and let the lobbyists fight with individual activists directly.

I suspect it would be nice to invite our special guest on a tour of the neighbourhood so we might start at HSG with drinks and end up at a restaurant on the street for food and shisha.

Looks like 6pm to 7:30pm might work better for our guests … can people make that time slot?

Just a personal bugbear of mine due to unpleasant experiences with my local guys

Or least don't make it so hard to stay connected/productive while in camp. The recent relaxation of rules regarding mobile phones in camp is good, but what's up with the (seemingly arbitrary) restriction on devices with >4.3" screens?
