I've just moved to Singapore from Sydney, working of Director of Technology for a media agency. I've managed projects for work with Melbourne Hackerspace luminaries, but mostly hacked Arduino (badly) and Ruby web apps myself from home.
Some projects: ** Arduino/CHDK helium balloon panoramic camera rig for Burning Man 2011 ** Beerbot Alpha - Arduino/JSON twitter-powered beer vending machine for my work (advertising agency) ** Project design for Kinect-powered video receptionist for office ** Backing a few amazing tech projects as Trustee of Awesome Foundation Sydney chapter (2011/2012)
Projects I'd like to start in HSG: ** Beerbot beta - adapting Beerbot web app code to run MQTT (via talented developer) and incorporating into Koolatron VFO2GB ** Timer/alarm web app for coffee machine - probably going to try RasPi or BBoard for this one.
In 4-6 weeks I'll also be able to provide weekend access to a Replicator2 (BYO PLA) when I'm in the 'Space.

I planned to use CHDK (for remote triggering) in my photo booth project
earlier on, but opt for gphoto now as it supports more camera models and
instant photo retrieval.
Meanwhile, I'm also experimenting with a MQTT client-server setup, running
on mosquitto.
