hi,

I'm a french web-entrepreneur, in Spore for holidays.
I've written an ebook in France that teaches men how to dress better,
and I begin to live from my web-business.
Following a suggestion of Florian Cornu, hackerspace member, here is a
proposal of agenda :

Fashion
- the 10 biggest mistakes men do with their looks
- geeks and clothes
- open questions about men's style

web-business models
- short presentation of the business model (www.bonnegueule.fr)
- open talk : how can style coaching be adapted to the Singaporean
market ?

Are you interested in such topics ?
Which parts are you the most interested in ?

see you soon,
Geoffrey

I'll be interested. Being male isn't an excuse to dress shabby.

Cheers,
Jason

Gasp! No... I just changed out my wardrobe of geeky tees... Quick, when?
Before I buy more shirts and pants.

In my modest opinion, the best dressed men (and women) in the world
are definitely Japanese! I enjoy walking around Tokyo and just
watching all that individuality, ingenuity, elegance and style,
fashion with a twist is everywhere, it edifies and inspires, sadly it
doesn't translate into anything more than just watching because they
tend to be very shy + language barrier.... Another group I admire
because of fashion are Argentinian guys over 60, definitely the most
elegant and charming men in the world, love watching them in their
natural habitat, the cafes with a cup of coffee and newspaper in their
old fashioned suits from good quality materials, every detail is just
impeccable, and when I turn 50, I will move there just so I can date
them... I fully support this workshop!

You know, even if Singapore can't be a startup haven, at least make it a style hub!

It's difficult. So many foreigners, how to make it style hub...

BECAUSE of so many foreigners it would be the perfect style hub.

yes, because singaporeans have such exceptional standards of personal appearance, its the foreigners bringing down the average..

yup.. trust me you're far from the first to bring that up. i've thought about growing a goatee and using it to get into places.

i'm not saying I put any real effort into my appearance beyond a weekly scalp-polishing, but I dont think the locals, in aggregate, are any better than the FTs

creating a style hub is notabout raising the average but creating a
showcase of different styles, including bad ones.

so it doesn't matter who has the better style, what matters is which
place has the most different styles so that they can be presented and
contrasted to each other all in one place. singapore has a clear
advantage here.

the only downside is that the climate excludes certain styles. although
some people do dress for winter because of aircon, so maybe there is no
downside after all.

greetings, martin.

I think that's a very good point about the climate influencing
styles. I didn't even bring most of my winter clothes from
Wisconsin......though I guess there wasn't much style in that pile
anyways :)
