Dear Hackerspacers,

we would like to have a Python User Group Meetup at the 26th or 27th of March. Would any member be willing to join us and be the sponsor for this event?

Many thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Martin

Sure you are. You might also want to join the Singapore Python User Group:

Becoming a member is on my list of goals to achieve this year.

However, even with 150% growth this year compared to last year, I am still in Ramen mode and far from leading a stable live in Singapore.
Even though married to a Singaporean I still need to leave the country for visa runs and thus I am not around large parts of the year - therefore even a youth membership would feel like a waste of money to me.

I will apply for a Long Term Visit Pass Plus, which will be introduced in April. If I'm super extremely lucky and get the pass despite not being married for super long and not having any kids, yet, I would be willing to buy a Youth Membership, if that would be OK. I don't need a desk or a locker.

Best regards,
Martin

what if the Python User Group pools funds sufficient to pay for a single membership at $128?

Good luck with the LTVP+ … all this stuff is a PITA.

I would assume that the membership is tied to PUGS, so Martin, we probably need to check with Beng Keat on this.

How does single membership for a group like ours work?

Yes, we in Python User should explore that avenue. More so if we plan
use hackerspace resources. All the while, we have got kind benefits
from the members and are of course thankful. Let's discuss this in
next in meeting of python user group.

We'd perhaps let you transfer it to an individual everytime you want to
book and hold an event. That person becomes responsible for hosting the
event. Access will be through a physical card rather than a code.

If you (and the other user groups who meet at hackerspace regularly but
have no members to sponsor) like the idea I'll take it up at the next
plenum (to have a group transferrable membership exclusively for events).

Alvins suggestions sounds like a good idea.

@Alvin, it seems as if you did not book the event into the hackerspace calendar, yet? Are there any problems? Do we need to seek out for another venue or find another sponsor?

Best regards,
Martin

Yeah, the 3 calendars are confusing everyone, including those making the
bookings.
