Hello everyone,
We've finally fixed the details for the first IXD Session! Dan
Wascovich (Ex-Head of User Experience Design, Yahoo! Southeast Asia)
is in town and has offered to lead the first session for us.
Dan is going to talk about guiding Product Design using personas. I've
been involved in projects where we tried using personas—it's never
easy figuring out were to begin and how to facilitate that into the
design process. It'll be interesting to hear Dan's advice and
experiences on the topic.
The details:
Speaker: Dan Wascovich
Date: 15th December, 2010
Time: 9:00am to 10:00am (30-40 minutes session and 10-20 mins
discussion)
Venue: "Pacific Coffee Company" at the Red Dot Design Museum (28
Maxwell Road)
Coffee and muffins will be served courtesy Mohan Belani :)

We're hoping the morning coffee and shorter format would compliment
the discussions at IXD Sessions better than an evening meetup—let's
see how this goes. As the sessions are only 1 hour, we would
appreciate if you are there 5 minutes ahead of time as there won't be
much scope for delays.

@Meng: I'm just bringing him over to check out the place and meet whoever's there at around 7pm. Was initially going to have an event at Hackerspace at 7pm but that's been scraped. Sent a mail yesterday on that.

I would be grateful if Dan would be willing to repeat his short talk
at HSG in the evening -- I'm hearing strong interest in IXD from
unexpected quarters and if we can define his visit as an actual talk,
I'll buy dinner for whomever turns up :)

I have passed the message to him. Will leave him to decide on that when he is there. I think if there's strong demand on the spot, Dan will be more than happy to do recap of the morning session.
