Just killed a stepper driver. (My own fault) Anyone got a spare lying round
I could buy? Would really like it back up and running for this weekend.

I killed it with the cut up bit of ali I was trying to sick on. Slipped and
obviously the cap hadn't fully discharged yet......

HSBNE could purchase the rest as part of a vitimins thing and sell the rest
at cost as this is not a capital expediture it wouldent need the 5 day
voting wait period.

So I suggest a vote to buy 50 pololu to stock hsbne like we did with the
kit10

These look good, and it looks like we wont be getting the original
pololu's as they are out of stock for the rest of the month..

Not to poke holes in you plan.... but HSBNE does not have any such concept as "capital" vs non-capital expenditure.   All expenditures and decisions must undergo the 5 day notice period and a group vote to allow people on the list time to comment and for the meeting to be adequately scheduled and attended. No exceptions. These are the rules.

There are a few recurring expenses (like the president's discretionary, and electricity bills etc) that have previously gone through this process so don't require repeat approval... but even they went through it.

If you want to change the rules to allow this sort of thing in the future then you need to draft modifications to the constitution that allow it, and bring then to the group to be voted on... with at least 5 days notice.

I propose that at the earliest possible convenience (next Tuesday perhaps?)

Its really hard to kill them if your following best practice and not
working on the live.
ie hot plugging is the biggest killer in my view.
You can get away with some adjusting but its bit recommended.

I stuffed mine by removing the cable while powerd if you look in the
datasheet for the driver chip it states that this will happen so its not
exactly a fault but a failure

yeah an errant y axis pulled out my e axis, killing a pololu.

this is why i advocate locking plugs kids :P
