AGM reminder

Hi Folks, a reminder that the Hackadl AGM is tomorrow.

A Hackerspace is a physical space shared by an open community of
creative and curious individuals. This physical space affords its
members the ability to pool resources such as tools, technology but most
importantly shared knowledge and the innovation that comes from
collaboration and collective problem solving.
Why do we need a Hackerspace? We live in an era characterised by ever
increasing access to information and technology, largely afforded by the
Internet. New technologies are available almost instantaneously thanks
to eCommerce and cheap international shipping. All of this has imbued
the Do It Yourself and hobbyist communities with an almost unmanageably
massive potential. The missing link in this equation is hands-on
experience and face-to-face communication - which a Hackerspace can
provide.
The Adelaide Hackerspace has been meeting since early 2010, but has
recently become an incorporated body. As part of this process the first
Annual General Meeting will be held on the 19th of September. We expect
this event to chart the course of Hackerspace Adelaide into the future.

The agenda for the meeting is:

*Committee report (including treasurers report)
*Election of new committee members
*Membership and fees
*Special Resolution (see below)
*Members/membership website
*Sponsorship, grant applications
*Insurance
*Safety
*Other business

Special Resolution
This will amend the constitution such that section 5.2.a which currently
reads:
“5.2 Subscriptions
a. The subscription fees for membership shall be such sum (if any) as
the members shall determine from time to time in general meeting. At
the members discretion a lower membership fee may be made available.”

Shall be amended to read:
“5.2 Subscriptions
a. The subscription fees for membership shall be such sum (if any)
proposed by the committee and accepted by vote of members. At the
committee's discretion a lower membership fee may be made available.”

Time:
19th September 6-8pm

Location:
Internode Training Room
162 Grenfell St Adelaide.
Please come to the front glass door. It's the building NEXT TO to the
building that houses the bright, shiny orange Internode reception.

Access:
The space is wheelchair accessible.
If you can't get in, please call Heidi on 0416 235 517 and she will come
out and get you.

I'm not sure of numbers so I've got some cake slices, biscuits and will
pop in home on the way in for some paper plates to put them on and some
napkins.

Not sure about the facilities there but maybe someone could bring some
water and soft drinks I have some plastic cups I could ring too.

I'm happy to grab a few drinks, but would be nice to know roughly how
many are coming and how many diet to cater for.
