to Hackadl, Hackadl Announce
Hi there,

This is quite a belated announcement, but Jon and I are going to give a little presentation about DIY 3D printing at the SA Microprocessor Group meeting tonight.

FRIDAY October 12, 2012 - 3D PRINTING - from 7:00pm at WEA's "Cottage B" 223 Angas St Adelaide. Pix and John with possibly a few others from Hacker Space will show us how to do 3D printing on a home-built 3D printer. We will have explained to us how to construct 3D printers, how to develop 3D objects using CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, how to convert the various output data files into a code suitable for the printer and see the actual printing process take place. Because 3D printing opens up the possibility of designing and manufacturing many objects at home that have, until now, only been possible in factories it is frequently described as the dawning of a "New Industrial Revolution". The guys from Hacker Space have been very busy lately doing many demos and presentations such as at the recent Science Week Expo at the Show Grounds so we are grateful to have them agree to show us what they have been doing. I hope you can attend this one. A good start for 3D printing is http://www.shapeways.com

See you there,
