Subject: Even-more-public-than-normal Hack-session Wednesday (tomorrow) night at Format

Hi all!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) night's hack-session falls bang in the middle of
Format's annual Format Festival.

As there will be a lot more people than normal poking in to have a look it
will be a bit more of a show-and-tell.

If anyone has been curious about popping in to have a look at a hack
session, this would be a great opportunity, as you can pretend you are
REALLY at Format for the art:
http://format.net.au/event/groupshow/
http://format.net.au/event/deadtoys/
http://format.net.au/event/squishbot-5000/

Where? Format Zine Shop / Gallery. 15 Peel St, Adelaide (Left at the bar
then downstairs)
When? 6pm-9pm

Cost? Normally we ask a $5 donation towards Format's rent, but this time we
are a kind of live art (zoo) exhibit so it's FREE! :)

So loud noises and flashing lights are the go?

Also I am back in the country, so I'll be there!

You read my mind :)

Hey Mark, did you hear about Mr Raspberry Pi hinting that GPGPU powered SDR
will be coming soon to the Pi?

Nope, didn't really think GPGPU was well suited to SDR work anyway, as
it's not particularly parallelisable (sp), and relies on fast data transfer.

Isn't all the Broadcom GPU stuff closed source anyway?

I'd come along just for the vibes, but I have another meeting I have to go
to (as Mr secretary).
When I have me XBee stuff actually doing useful things, I'll bring in some
hardware for a demo, promise.
First real task will be sending power-meter LED flashes.  So I'll need to
knock up a LED flasher to simulate the meter.  That will form a demo!
-Sounds simple, but I'm finding that just asynchronously sending data over
XBees involves more than you'd think, especially when the senders are
battery powered and they need to be asleep most of the time.  :(

If I can fit it in my backpack, I'll bring my UGV.

It's still pretty rough but we can drive it around.

Does anyone have a USB numeric keypad they can bring tonight?
My rovers remote has developed a weird "quirk", but I can still control it
from a keyboard.

Andrew.
