Hi Guys,

If any of you still have flash working on your phone I'd love to get
some feedback on a game I helped make for a Uni class:
http://wyeldbydesign.com/temp/flashGames/JellyfishGame.html

Problem:

Game play actions:

Game design/theme:

Game Art:

The crab needs to move smoother. I had no idea how to play at first. double Taping the left and right arrows can cause your game to lose focus as it zooms or un zooms the game. Looks good tho! Sorry if my feed back is a little blunt, but i guess I'm helping?

Too easy to move screen around when tapping fish. Kept unzooming on fast taps. Some taps did nothing. Fast drop, impossible to move fast enough. I suggest it just stay full screen if possible. (HTC one X)

If the fast drops are much slower the game would never end. Try experimenting with different control schemes? Drag to move, or crab follows finger? What you could do is have the difficulty slide up the longer they play.

I managed to get flash onto my S3 (there is a paid app that installs it, but you can immediately refund the installer app afterwards. flash then only works in the default browser, not Chrome.

A lot of double tapping eventually got it in to native flash fullscreen mode (a grey toolbar appears briefly with a fullscreen button) and then the interaction works flawlessly.

I like the Game+Watch homage, and that the different falling speeds always fool my brain in to waiting for the lowest jellyfish instead of the fastest falling one.

Nice one Tamsyn. Some feedback based on your categories:

Problem: No bugs from my play.

Game play actions: Could you add keyboard support? Just the arrows?
Perhaps have the fish change colour or size when you tap/click them.

Game design/theme: I'd love sound feedback & image feedback for
missing the Jellyfish rather than them just disappearing. Maybe
splattering on the sea-bed, jelly style?

Game Art: I like the simple vector style. Perhaps you could vary the
line width, and if you're applying a gradient to the background, maybe
apply it to the other objects as well. Love the illustration of the
crab & jelly fish. :-)

Awesome work.

I gather this was intended for a touch screen? Would be good to double up controls with arrow keys.
Moreover it would also be good to tell the user what the fishes on the sides do rather than just assume they should know. It took me a good while to work out clicking on the fish moved the crab, and I'm not exactly a virgin to gaming. :p

Also if you do attempt to put in keyboard support, you don't have to attempt to make it something amazing and smooth, just being able to tap between each crab position would be great.
