Subject: Anybody got any (working) lead acid batteries they'd like to get rid of?
Hi all,
My UPS battery has just died on me and I'm looking to replace it. I'm
wondering if anybody has any 12v lead acid batteries on hand that they'd
part with - the UPS has already been modified to use an external
battery, so size/shape really doesn't matter too much (it was previously
running on an old car battery).

If anybody has anything suitable, let me know what you have as well as
what you want for it. :-)

Terry.

Sorry, I just traded all my old UPS batteries (about 30 of them) when I
got my new ones.

I might be able to dig up one or 2, but I can't be certain.

Will keep a look out for some though.

Cheers

Tim

Hi Terry.. how many? We have just removed a whole bunch of 12V 5AH
batteries from several UPS's in the lab here.. your
mileage(kilometreage?) may vary, but they are free to a good home.

Aspitech now have a bunch of new "but faulty" "Car Battery Jump Starter
Compressor Inverter Power Pack with solar panel" with unused SLA
batteries in them.  http://www.aspitech.com.au/   They look like this.

They have been trying to decide how best to process them.  Give them a
call and make an offer.

Tell them Robert sent you :-)

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the tip off - I will give them a ring and see how I go.

Terry.

Hi Paul,
I would love to take a few of them (half a dozen or so?) off your hands.
Where abouts are they located?

Terry.

When do you need them by. I'm in negotiations with management (who
want some of them for a water pump on the hobby farm).

They are in the city.. Level 8 /111 Gawler Place
Not light, but I have a sack truck.. if required.

Hi Paul,
No urgent rush, whenever works for you. Let me know what's possible with
numbers and pickup etc & we'll go from there.

Terry.

Ok.. They are available for pickup. You might want to take 2 extra (as
spares) as I can't confirm their status. they are 3 years old.

I have a box that will take the 8.

As mentioned:

Let me know when you would like to pick them up. Lunch time (12noon)
is good, although generally anytime is OK but I knock of at 4pm.

Cheers
