Subject: Plugin with an external database
Beside my usual habari installation I've another database (with a very
different DB schema). What's the best practice to make a plugin so
that users can interact with this database vi habari admin page?

depends really on the other DB schema. You can use Habari's built in
DB classes to create a new connection to your DB, that would involve
creating a QueryRecord class for your data.

That's the path I would take, although I haven't thought it through much.

(you should try habari-dev list ;)
