Down-Server -> Warning on Dash and further Problems

Hi out there,
on my dashboard is seen this:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in system/admin/
dashboard.php line 104
when I looked at the code to get an idea from what this suddenly come,
I found that this is the message on updates. And when I tried to reach
the server it struk me that this is the problem.
So the Warning should everyone get when he or she is looking on his or
her dash. But thats pretty uncool. Is there no way to catch this error
or to make a test if the site is online?

Oh, sorry the Warning only occurs on the multi-site-installation, but
that also is pretty uncool …
