Recording the screencasts has proven more challenging than I expected.
Rather than try to wing it, I took some time to write and record
scripts. This necessitated some upgrades to my recording equipment.
I have now recorded three audio tracks for three separate screencasts:
* http://skippy.net/files/install1.mp3 (2.1 M)
* http://skippy.net/files/content1.mp3 (4.6 M)
* http://skippy.net/files/media1.mp3 (3.4 M)
The first is a quick walk through the installation, using SQLite.
The second is a quick walk through creating and managing content.
The third is a quick introduction to the Simple File Media Silo.
Using these, anyone should be able to record the associated screen
elements, and then merge my audio into their video. I'm sharing the
audio in case I don't get to record the video tomorrow as I currently
plan. Also, if anyone wants to take a shot at recording their own,
you can use my scripts as a starting point. Simply replace mp3 with
txt for each file to obtain my script.
Finally, we need to have consistent intro and outro sequences. One
idea I had was for everyone to submit a wav or mp3 of them saying
"Spread The News!", which I would the combine into a single file. I
(or anyone else) would say "Habari", and follow it with the combined
"Spread The News!" bit.
I've learned a few tricks for recording screencasts here:

I have some ideas for making templates for opening and closing slides
(in conjunction with the audio mentioned above). If anyone wants to
collaborate, contact me off-list.
Cheers,
Scott
