Recently, I found a way get around the XML issue that pops up frequently in Github. Here is a post I made on a forum that talks about my finding.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Both of the commands are the same, but the latter specifies the commit SHA hash, rather than letting git assume it's HEAD. I'm not sure how that gets around any kind of issue...

I do not get it either, but every time I type in the command and perform a push, I kept getting that issue reported. Whereas, if I specified a commit, it went through to the Catalog without much issue. It was like that for both my theme and plugin.

Bryce,

Your recent tags created a proper version number in the catalog because I fixed the tag generation code in the middle of your series of updates. I was surprised to see your commit appear as a new version, and happy that the code is working as expected with live data and not just my test data. That it worked likely had nothing to do with hashes.

Oh, I see.

So I see that the "fix" didn't work as well as I thought. :(

I did not try it, unfortunately, since I am not I actually saw the message until after I submitted a commit, still using hashes.
